Michigan junior defensive end Rashan Gary broke the ice and announced his intentions in the NFL, so dominoes will start to fall?
Shea quarterback Patterson will also leave with a year of eligibility remaining? Will linebacker Devin Bush, a first-round candidate, also head to the NFL?
Gary, the No. 1 outgoing high school player, launches a first-round pick and announced his decision on a video on Monday. ESPN's editor-in-chief, Mel Kiper, ranked Gary 8th out of his last big board, two places behind his Michigan mate, linebacker Devin Bush Jr.
"I'd like to thank my higher power, my family, the University of Michigan, the students and the fans," Gary said in the video. "I will give up my senior season to realize a dream, to declare for the repechage. Thank you. Go blue."
Gary missed three games due to an AC joint injury in his right shoulder. Kwity Paye made three departures in the absence and gained valuable experience. The young rookie, Aidan Hutchinson, also had the chance to play.
Which others will leave early? Quarterbacks Lavert Hill and David Long? Second assistant Khaleke Hudson. The offensive lineman Ben Bredeson?

Bush was No. 6 on Kiper's last big board and was the best defense player this season. He finished the regular season with 78 tackles, including 9 tackles for defeat and five sacks. He left the Ohio State match with an unspecified hip injury that, according to coach Jim Harbaugh, would not be "long term". Last season he led the team with 101 tackles.
"He is the ideal linebacker for today 's match because, listen, the game of yesterday was, you had to be a hammer in the middle, just be physical and face the defender," he said. David Pollack told ESPN earlier this season about Bush. "He's physical enough to have played at these times, but also side by side. It's rare. You do not find guys like that across the country. He is one of the best in the country at his post. It's fun to watch, because I like his way to compete. "
He was elected co-captain this season and he always felt it was clear in advance that Bush would go into the NFL. In an interview last week on the Big Ten network, Bush was asked when he would make a decision about his future.
Bush said he planned to sit down with his family and his coaches to discuss options, but he proposed a schedule.
"Probably late December, early January will be my decision," Bush told BTN.
Patterson, who had left Ole Miss last December, had participated in the spring training and was declared immediately eligible. He led the Wolverines to a season of 10 outstanding victories at Notre Dame and Ohio State.
He arrived in Michigan and had the impression of becoming one. Patterson looked particularly devastated after the 62-39 debacle at Ohio State, suggesting that there might perhaps be room for maneuver and that he could put pressure on the projects of the NFL. Patterson finished the season by completing 65% of his passes for 2,364 yards, 21 touchdowns against five interceptions. He played five touchdowns with three touchdowns, including at OSU.
As a result of the loss of the state of Ohio, Patterson made sincere comments about his feelings for the Wolverines.
"I love my brothers, I love this team, I love this university like no other," he said, before adding: "I love this team and I would not like to win or lose with anyone on this planet. "
Patterson has repeatedly said that he had learned more about football in a few months with head coach Jim Harbaugh and the game's co-ordinator, Pep Hamilton, who he's not sure of. He had lived all his life in football. Another year in Michigan would give him the opportunity to become bigger and stronger, not to mention he would further develop his game, and it would be possible to try to beat Notre Dame and Ohio State at Michigan Stadium.
He was recently asked if he thought it was his last season in Michigan.
"Not at all," he says.
Long and Hill have received consistent praise throughout their careers and are likely to test the waters of the NFL and see what types of notes they earn. Long had 15 tackles this year, eight break-offs and one interception. Hill had five interruptions and one interception came back for a touchdown against Wisconsin. Long left the OSU game with a strain of hip flexion, according to Harbaugh.
Hudson and Bredeson are other juniors who might think of the NFL. Bredeson started guarding left since his first year and was co-captain this fall. Hudson played the Viper in defense of Don Brown and had 38 tackles, two sacks and three quarter shifts in the regular season.
