A long-time Bay Area reporter and a radio presenter last seen near a Kentucky pizzeria has been missing for two weeks, according to media reports.
Raphael "Ray" Taliaferro, journalist and news anchor for KGO-AM and KRON-TV radio in San Francisco, was last seen near a pizzeria called "Mellow Mushroom" in Paducah, Kentucky November 10, according to media reports. reports.
A pamphlet posted by the Paducah Police Department said that he may be suffering from "disorientation and signs of dementia," according to a KRON report 4.
Police officials in Paducah and the Sheriff of Massac County, Illinois could not be contacted immediately to comment on Taliaferro's disappearance.
It is unclear when he was visiting or living in Kentucky when he disappeared.
Taliaferro participated in the founding of the National Association of Black Journalists in 1975 and was awarded the Black Chamber Life Award by the Black Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco in 1994, according to the National Association of Black Journalists .
The 1994 award recognized him as a "precursor of broadcasting".
The association inducted Taliaferro into the Hall of Fame in January 2011. The association created the "Ray Taliaferro NABJ Entrepreneurial Spirit Award" in his honor to reward "journalistic entrepreneurship" among the members of the association.
