EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Jacksonville Jaguars midfielder Leonard Fournette suffered a right thigh injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Giants and did not return.

It is unclear on what game Fournette was injured, but he managed a screen pass without gain on the third and last, then went on the sidelines while the Jaguars scored 6-3. The coaches worked on Fournette's hamstrings for several minutes before taking him to the locker room with 5 minutes and 18 seconds left in the first period.

Fournette had nine runs for 41 yards and three assists for 14 yards before the injury. Running back T.J. Yeldon took over as a back of the Jaguars. He caught a 1-yard touchdown pass at the end of the second quarter to give the Jaguars a 10-3 lead. There is only one other player on the list of the 53 players in the team (Corey Grant).

Last season, Fournette rushed for 1,040 yards as a rookie and said he had camped this season 17 pounds lower because he wanted to play the weight he had in college (223).
