Dave Fenley (Team Blake), "Use Me" – Grade: D + | In rehearsal, Dave acknowledged that his fans had chosen a song that was a biiig not left of his ordinary kind. But it seemed like his clay voice would fit in with Bill Withers – and throwing beatboxing seemed like a fun and captivating idea. On stage, though, the gimmick was really the highlight of Dave's poor performance. The poor guy seemed to have as much funk in him as me. (In other words, none.) And even his usually reliable voice dropped him for a while or two. "I'm a little shocked," Adam said afterwards. Me too and not in a good way.
Chevel Shepherd (Team Kelly), "Space Cowboy" – Grade: C + | "I love this song," said the 16-year-old coach, confident that the girl could sing Kacey Musgraves as if her heart had been broken in a way that had not still been. And Kelly was right – a little. On the stage, Chevel managed to fill his voice with pain and plainness that belies his years. However, she sometimes looked uncertain about the melody and, on some of the bigger notes of the chorus, was getting a little flat. When she was done, Kelly was ecstatic. me not so much. Reagan Strange (Team Adam), "Complicated" – Rating: D | During the rehearsal, Adam stated that he thought that Avril Lavigne's hit was perfect for Reagan – and deceptively difficult to play. I adore Reagan – she is as cute as a basket of puppies – but it was neither the perfect song for her, nor an interpretation close to this one. Whatever the case may be, his coach was delighted and amazed at how Kirk had created a sound that was a mix of George Strait and Rascal Flatts.
Chris Kroeze (Team Blake), "Long Train Runnin" – Grade: B + | I like Chris's deep voice a lot, but when I watch him play, I never have stars in my eyes, I feel more like that "This guy would be a prominent singer in a recovery group. " And there is nothing wrong with that … except that it makes it unlikely to make the Final Four. In rehearsal, Blake suggested that Chris could bring back a 70s rock vibe to his country. On the stage, Chris's voice was so raw that it felt like a Brillo Pad was in a blender – and I'm saying that. The man was sure! Lynnea Moorer (Team Kelly), "Consequences" – Rating: C + | Maybe Lynnea fans should always choose her songs. And … Sarah seemed to have trouble getting out of the gate with her lower register – a bad omen. Then she seemed to have trouble following the tone of the song. She reminded me why I was such a big fan during a quiet interlude when she regained control, but the best I can say about the performance is that she She had good times. If there was one positive side to this disappointment, it was that she would certainly sound better by singing for Instant Save Tuesday – with a song of her choice.
DeAndre Nico (Team Adam), "Cry for You" – Grade: C + | Adam advised DeAndre to make every moment exciting and to empty his arsenal when he played Jodeci's slow jam.
