Recap The Voice: Season 15, Episode 7

The voiceFighting continues with five other pairs competing for a place in the round of 16 and, judging by the number of coaching flights that were launched early, season 15 is more competitive than the last few rounds of the series, and coaching jobs will only get more and more difficult from now on.

Team Kelly: Kymberli Joye vs. OneUp
"Mercy" by Shawn Mendes

Given Kelly Clarkson's absolute happiness in hanging Kymberli Joye during the blinds, the lady would really need the blind to lose this battle, which means it's up to OneUp to steal her tonight. This match between Anthony Arya and Steve Memmolo is surprisingly good. Even though Steve has a better performance style – and, of course, the look of an Affleck brother – the young Anthony does a remarkable job that allows him to put spirits together once on the big stage.

The popular appeal of Steve Mayer at the time is very appealing, and he still has enough vocal force to dominate the shared moments of the song. But when Anthony gets a rare moment in the number, his voice is as warm and soothing, as he treated us all with a lullaby. Unlike many fighters tonight, Chris Kroeze and Mercedes Ferreira-Dias do not have much in common from a musical point of view. While Chris has a fluffy, gritty tone that's perfect for this 80's pick-me-up style song, Mercedes has the kind of pipe that could work better with something less stoic. She's still doing quite well – her vocal strength or sense of distance security is not denied – but the choice of this song makes Chris's vocal personality very difficult. He fled easily with the victory.

"Angel" by Sarah Mclachlan

Last, but not least, Jennifer Hudson associates these two melancholy singers to a generally moderate number and leaves them crazy with their arrangements, and oh my God, it works. Mike Parker may have barely won his turn, but even in the blinds, his soft R & B tones were inviting (let's remember again the comparison of John Legend), and he only improved tonight. Natasia Greycloud herself has a lot of nuance and ferocity. Both performers deliver crisp, yet always creative, space-friendly performances – they end on a discreet, incredibly elegant note.

For Jennifer, Mike's ability to surprise her, as well as other coaches, with such a consistent and intuitive grip is enough to give her the edge. However, Kelly appreciates the talent with which Natasia played his role (or as Blake would say, his "attack" very similar to that of Kelly Clarkson) and decides to offer him a place in his team as a consolation prize. Mike certainly deserved his victory, but Natasia is also a fair result of this battle.
