Recruitment of Florida Gators: RB Nay'Quan Wright commits

The Florida Gators were victorious on the hunt Saturday night, shortly after defeating rival Florida State.

Nay'Quan Wright scoring midfielder Carol City, one of South Florida's hottest prospects in 2019, announced on Twitter that he is signing up for UF.

"Every level of your life will require a different version of you! #GoGators "Wright wrote in his tweet.

Wright, a five-five-pound, 185-pound halfback from Opera Locka, is ranked # 15 and # 38 in overlay in Florida, regardless of the position in this year's recruiting cycle, according to ranking of the 247Sports Composite. He chose Florida rather than Alabama, the State of Florida and Georgia among a host of offers offered by the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Wright is ranked second among South Florida's semis in the 2019 category, behind the only Kenny McIntosh of University University, a Georgia Bulldogs.

Wright played an important role in leading the Carol City Chiefs to a 10-3 record, a 16-6A district title and an appearance in the 4-6A semifinals, in which the Chiefs eventually lost against Central.

The Florida recruiting class now ranks 21st in the country and has 16 verbal commitments. Commitments are not binding until a player signs a letter of national intent, either at the beginning of the signing period or at the national signing day.
