Colts out of trouble, are moving again: With Indianapolis in third place and 12 of his own 3-yard line, Andrew Luck found T.Y. Hilton for a 22-yard gain in the final game of the first quarter. Former Redskins receiver Ryan Grant made the key to the game in the spring, ahead of Hilton, who has two catches for 40 yards. (Colts 7, Redskins 0, end of the 1st quarter)
The second Washington training stalls: An offensive defensive penalty canceled a Colts bag in the third row and gave the Redskins new life on their second possession, but Washington could not enjoy their next set. Josh Doctson could not understand what would have been a big win in the first round. Colts go three and go out: Andrew Luck was incomplete in third place after Marlon Mack was crammed with gains in the first two games of the Colts' second possession, leading to a Rigoberto Sanchez kick from outside his own goal zone. The Redskins forced to throw: Washington's first possession started with a 25-yard run by Jamison Crowder in the bottom row, but stopped just in the middle when linebacker Darius Leonard beat Paul Richardson Jr. Washington defeated Tunt Way in Indianapolis 10. The Redskins' tie-free series is 429 games and counts after Andrew Luck led Indianapolis in a 75-yard, 75-yard touchdown attempt to open the game. The odds were 4 to 5 on the road, including a seven-yard touchdown pass to Eric Ebron on a faded run with Montae Nicholson on the cover. Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin returns to the FedEx Field Championship before Sunday's home game against the Washington Redskins against the Indianapolis Colts. After a dominant win at Week 1 in Arizona, the Redskins are back home to face the Colts with a chance to open the season 2-0 for the first time since 2011. Receivers Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson have accumulated 294 yards by the pass. Cardinals and quarterback Alex Smith were effective in their Redskins debut, making most of his damage with short passes to Peterson, Thompson and tight winger Jordan Reed.
The Washington defense almost scored a shutout for the first time since 1991 and running back David Johnson was limited to 37 yards. The Colts, who dropped out of their first game of the season against the Bengals, have no chance of regaining their lineup, but quarterback Andrew Luck should provide a tougher test to the Redskins than Sam Bradford did the week last. Lucky, who had five touchdown passes in their last game in 2014, looked strong in the first week after missing all of last season with a shoulder injury.
