The Redskins acquired Ha Ha Clinton-Ten from the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday afternoon, bolstering an already strong defense with Pro Bowl quality safety.
The news was posted on Twitter, as were the reactions of the Redskins players. Suffice it to say, they are rather happy.
The first response came from Mason Foster, who used the GIF keyboard to accurately summarize his surprise.

The other players followed, Josh Norman being particularly confident, the trade between Clinton and Dix augurs well for Washington.

The Redskins and the rest of D.C. are certainly right to be excited, Washington appointing a player whose career count includes 14 interceptions and 390 tackles. And paired with D.J. Swearinger, Clinton-Dix should have ample opportunity to make impact games.

DJ Swearinger and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix have this in common: they both play very, very safely this season.
But here is something else that both DB and their teammates share: an appreciation of Sean Taylor.
Redskins fans know Swearinger's love for Skins legend. Among other things, he saves his facial mask as Taylor once did and wears 36 – the numbers that Taylor wore as a rookie – to honor him.
It turns out that Clinton-Dix is a massive fan of Washington's beloved defender too.
In a 2014 interview with the Sentinel Journal of Milwaukee, he explained that while he could dine with anyone, Taylor would be his choice.
"He was my source of inspiration," Clinton-Dix said. "I watched it, I idolized it, it's a hell of a guy, it was a beast, I liked it a lot. young age, it was sad for me like he was my brother or something, and I did not even know him. "
Arriving in DC, Clinton-Dix will have to find a new number to switch; Taylor 21 is out of bounds these days.
Playing for the old Taylor team, though, will surely be cool for him. And now, he and Swearinger can show their respect for the All-Pro by placing elements in the Redskins' secondary gap for the rest of the season and perhaps beyond.

The Redskins took a big step forward to strengthen their defense, trading against the Packers Ha Ha Clinton-Dix security Thursday, just minutes before the NFL trading deadline. The move was reported for the first time by NFL Media.
Green Bay will receive a fourth-round pick in 2019 in exchange for Clinton-Dix, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Clinton-Dix should step in and replace second-year Pro Montae Nicholson. That means Clinton-Dix will play alongside D.J. Swearinger, giving the Redskins two of the best 2018 soccer players in the same high school.
In the current year, Clinton-Dix has three interceptions to make with 27 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. A former Alabama player, Clinton-Dix joins other Crimson Tide alums in the locker room, including Jonathan Allen, Shaun Dion Hamilton and Daron Payne.

With the Packers, Clinton-Dix competed in the Pro Bowl in 2016 and has not missed any matches since being selected in the first round of the 2014 draft. He also plays on the final year of his contract, the option of rookie for the fifth year, and he is designated for free agency status after this season.
