We have seen the face of evil. It belongs to Henry Deaver. Kind of.

Then came the big change – last week's alternative reality episode – and suddenly we have a perfectly persuasive, convincing, cross-dimensional story. Admittedly, the question of the veracity of this story has remained debatable. But if all that was going to be a whim, then wow: mission accomplished.
Which brings us to the final. Sometimes, Alt-Henry seems to be a deeply hurt but articulate man, just trying to convince people like our Henry to help him get home. He continues to display an intimate knowledge of what their common life is, that is, that their father had the intention of killing their mother if she did not go to school. was not running away with Alan in alternative reality or he had not pushed him out of this cliff. a. "A year later": Henry went from defending death row inmates to litigation over neighbors' property boundaries. He has a nice relationship with his son Wendell, who comes to visit Christmas. His mother is dead and is buried next to Alan. His old friend and lover Molly lives in the Florida Keys, where she often visits her incredibly scary but seemingly benign grandmother. And Alt-Henry is once again a prisoner in the bowels of Shawshank's abandoned penitentiary. As the episode unfolds at this revelation, a Henry 1.0 voiceover suggests that perhaps the residents of Castle Rock were all monsters, including himself. All the signs of an open end are there.
But the truth is closed as hard as al-Henry's prison cell. That skips? As Stephen King's riff, he understood and updated his concept of American daily evil better than any adaptation of his work in recent memory. But as a horror story, the series made promises, but it did everything to avoid delivering in the end. A finale that seemed destined for black magic was only a bait and a change. The show has been renewed and a new tale will be told. Let's hope our next visit to this awful Maine town will live up to its potential.
