Relief evacuation for Hill Fire in Ventura County, confined to 65%

UPDATE (9:05 pm) – Ventura County Fire Department officials tweeted Saturday that all evacuation orders had been raised for Hill's fire.

The hill fire has reached more than 4500 acres and is 65% contained. In total, two structures were damaged by the hill fire. Fire managers expect that they will be completely contained within five days.


UPDATE (4:36 pm) – At a press conference on Saturday morning, fire officials and city officials reported on the Woolsey and Hill fire.

The Woolsey Fire has exceeded 70,000 acres and is under control at five percent. The hill fire remains at 4,531 acres and progress has been slowed down. It is 25% content.

The Woolsey fire evacuation orders remain in place, which includes 95,000 residents. Some fire residents of the hill will be allowed to return home.

Two deaths have been reported and the authorities are investigating.

Two others were severely burned, said fire officials. No incidents of looting have been reported.

The exact number of houses lost has not yet been determined.

The authorities have warned residents to remain vigilant in the face of fierce winds that should reignite Sunday fires.

More than 900 firefighters are on site fighting the hill fire in Ventura County, according to fire officials.

The fire threatens 400 structures. Nobody was injured in this fire and no structure was destroyed.

Current road closures include: Highway 101 in both directions from Valley Circle to Adobe's Reyes, Highway 101 off the Camarillo Springs exit ramps, Highway 1 to the south ( Pacific Coast Hwy) closed at Las Posas Rd. At Valley Circle Blvd., Borchard at Los Vientos Dr. Lynn Road at Reino Rd., Potrero Rd. Is closed between Rancho Dos Vientos and S. Lewis Rd., Kanan Rd. Between Westlake Bl. And Lindero Canyon Rd., Falling Star Ave. Kanan Rd. and Ebres Street. at Sapra Street
