Police on Friday removed the remains of 63 fetuses from a Detroit funeral home. This is the second funeral home in the region that houses the bodies of infants who have died and been born in recent weeks.

The terrible find was made at the Perry funeral home after the police executed a search warrant to search the premises. According to the Detroit Free PressAt a press conference, Detroit police chief James Craig told the police that remains were found after the ministry received information about the funeral home. The complaint came from a father involved in a civil lawsuit against Perry Funeral Homes for the improper burial of his infant daughter.

The Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, in a statement distributed to local news sources, said the remains were handed over to state investigators. According to the statement, the funeral home was closed and its activities suspended as "an imminent threat to the health and safety of the public".

In total, officials said they found 36 fetuses stored in boxes and 27 in non-refrigerated freezers, according to the local WDIV station.

"These are allegations for the moment, but it's very, very disturbing," Chief Craig said at the news conference. "I have never seen anything like it for 41 years and a half that I am in the force, never."

This shocking discovery came a week after the Detroit police found 11 bodies in the ceiling of Cantrell Funeral Home after LARA responded to a complaint. The police recently filed a criminal complaint against the owner of this house.

Craig said at the press conference that the ministry was reviewing whether there was a connection between the two cases, although he admitted that it was very early.
