The Tennessee Titans intend to begin Sunday's Blaine Gabbert against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to ESPN. Adam Schefter.
Schefter noted that while the Titans hope the starter Marcus Mariota can "regain the feeling of being able to grab the balloon as quickly as possible, "said Gabbert, the current plan.
Tennessee started Gabbert last week after Mariota suffered an elbow injury that deprived him of the team's first week loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Mariota was limited in practice Thursday and Friday, but head coach Mike Vrabel said Thursday that he had taken most of the representatives, by ESPN. Turron Davenport.
Mariota was active last week, but he did not play.
Gabbert led Tennessee to a 20-17 win over the Houston Texans in place of Mariota, but he only got 117 yards and a touchdown.
After replacing Mariota in Week 1, Gabbert had 117 yards passing without a touchdown and a 27-20 over Dolphins.
Gabbert was originally selected with the Jags' 2011 NFL Draft No. 10 pick, but the 28-year-old has rebounded in the league since and has a career record of just 12-34 as therefore.
Mariota struggled to open the match for 103 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. He also had a tough time last season, while he pitched 13 touchdowns and 15 steals, but he also scored five points and led the Titans to the playoffs.
Choice # 2 2015 is still trying to become an NFL quarterback, but it would probably give Tennessee a better chance of winning on the road against Jacksonville because of his mobility.
If Gabbert starts, he will face a Jaguar defense that allowed the New England Patriots to count only 20 points last week.
