Roseanne Barr, ABC's leading actress, regrets having been fired from the eponymous hit series "Roseanne," the Daily Mail reported Thursday.
Barr was suddenly released from ABC after an alleged Ambien-powered Twitter tirade in which she tried to draw a parallel between Valerie Jarrett, former assistant to President Barack Obama, and "The Planet of the Apes." claims Billionaire "George Soros is a Nazi who condemned his Jewish comrades to be murdered in German concentration camps and steal their fortune."
Following his dismissal from ABC in May, the network announced that he would continue the show with a fallout that would exclude Barr called "The Conners."

In a recent interview with The Daily Mail, however, two ABC executives acknowledged that Barr's dismissals were a harsh reaction from the president of the network and that a temporary suspension could have been a more appropriate action.

"We have not thought about it well. What Roseanne did is wrong, but we should not have rushed to fire her. It was almost an instinctive reaction of Ben [Sherwood] and Channing [Dungey] who should have opened an investigation, "said an ABC insider to the Daily Mail.
The ABC insider openly admits to regretting not having interviewed the general public before making a decision. The choice to cut Roseanne from the series came several hours after her comments elicited negative reactions.
"It would have given them more time to listen to the public, advertisers and cast members to determine the best decision," he continued. "They could have suspended her without pay for the first episodes and brought her back later in the season. I mean, the final of the season saw Roseanne come to the hospital for knee surgery. "

"When we announced the Conners project, we thought the public would turn to the family, but we found out that people wanted Roseanne – they do not want the family for themselves," said second source of ABC. "The marketing and advertising teams are horrified because no matter the published promotional material – and let's be honest, this was limited for a show that will be launched next Tuesday – Roseanne fans have come forward to declare that they do not would not watch the show. "
"The comments on social media tend to bias Roseanne and criticize The Conners and the cast members who have returned," the source added. "Even the devoted fans of the Conner family feel opposed to the idea of supporting a series that quickly eliminated his matriarch and creator."

One of the two anonymous sources said expect high scores for the first episode of "The Conners," but think it will be followed by a massive drop for the remainder of the season.
"We expect that there will be a tuning so that fans can actually learn Roseanne's departure, but from there, the worry is that the ratings will fall. "
The source also expressed concern that the removal of the star of the series will harm the entire network and has serious consequences for those involved in the decision to fire her.
"In the end, the ratings are all that matters – and many people at Disney and ABC are worried that Roseanne's dismissal will drop significantly on Tuesday night," they said. "And if the Conners fail, Channing and his team will have many questions to answer."
"The murmur through ABC is that they will not even be a quarter of what Roseanne achieved last season."
The first episode of The Conners will air on Tuesday, October 16th.
