Can you imagine Stephen Curry suspended for the opening of the Warriors' season on Tuesday?
It could have happened, but not, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Why would Curry have been forced to stay out the night he picked up his third NBA ring?
While there was just under nine minutes remaining in the pre-season final on Saturday night, Warriors' auxiliary goaltender Quinn Cook made a mistake on Lance Stephenson. The Lakers striker was also exceptional and seemed to want to start something with Cook.
The referees were able to intervene before everything happened, but Curry and injured center DeMarcus Cousins, sitting sideways, stood up and headed for the group of players on the field.
It looks like they've approached a few meters away from the players before the Warriors' assistant coach, Jarron Collins, puts a hand on Curry's chest and pushes them away.
According to league rule, any player who does not play the game and plays in the field during an altercation is subject to suspension. But according to Haynes, the league did not consider the incident between Cook and Stephenson as an altercation. So, Curry and Cousins were not in violation of the league's regulations.
So rest easy, Warriors fans. Curry will play Tuesday night against the Thunder.

According to coach Steve Kerr, Golden State continues to keep some mystery behind his absences, but it's not a question of ankle.
Curry was limited to one-on-one work with training staff and should be available for the opening night on Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
"He will play," said Kerr. "He will play, he just did not participate in the fray."
When asked about Curry, Kerr only stated that the MVP twice suffered from "minor ailments" and that Sunday was considered a day of detoxification.
Curry only played the first 11 minutes of the preparatory final on Friday night before leaving, the Warriors having announced that it was "in bad weather". There was no precision.
It looks like Jimmy Butler is staying in the Western Conference after all … for the moment.
Butler is expected to start the season with the Minnesota Timberwolves after training with the team on Sunday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The 29-year-old shooting officer reportedly called for a day of trading before the Timberwolves began their training camp. The Miami Heat would have become Butler's biggest contender and Minnesota gave up an exchange at the last minute.
Butler then returned to training on Wednesday, reportedly taking garbage to his teammates and telling Minnesota GM Scott Layden, "You (bleed) need me!" The next day, the Timberwolves canceled their training and would have organized a meeting reserved for the players. Butler would have explained to his teammates that his problems were related to management.
Minnesota opens the season in San Antonio Wednesday before its home opening game on Friday. Butler told Jon Karawczynski of The Athletic that he would not be deterred by a potentially icy reception from Timberwolves fans.
