Report: The Lions players upset by Matt Patricia on the settlement of the team, amount of work | Bleacher's report

The Detroit Lions would have more trouble than their 0-1 record after defeating the New York Jets 48-17 at Ford Field on Monday.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network said he had heard that some former players were not satisfied with the hard work of head coach Matt Patricia during training camp. They also did not like the number of team rules he had put in place:

It is important to note that Garafolo said that he did not want to rush to draw conclusions, but he stressed that players could become more agitated if the results did not come to work so hard. He also suggested that Patricia might look for alternative replacements who will participate in her approach if the losers continue.

Garafolo added more context, noting one of the player's agents predicted that the team would be "running out of fuel" at week 1 due to the grueling training camp.

Detroit seemed outclassed on Monday as the Jets headed for an impressive victory on the road. Matthew Stafford threw four interceptions, the defense failed to keep rookie quarterback Sam Darnold in check and the result was an embarrassing loss.

Things may not be any better, either, since the four quarters that Detroit will face are Jimmy Garoppolo, Tom Brady, Dak Prescott and Aaron Rodgers.

This was not the only annoying report after the loss because Dan Wetzel from Yahoo Sports noted that the Jets knew what games the Lions would run before even breaking the ball.

"We were playing their game while he was getting up," said linebacker Darron Lee.

"Film study," added Jamal Adams. "The crime paints an image, they give us little advice."

The Lions hired Patricia as head coach after spending the previous six years as the New England Patriots Defensive Coordinator. New England has a well-established culture of victories and appearances of the Super Bowl. Detroit did not experience his last appearance in 1957, before the Super Bowl era, but Patricia's early methods gave disappointing results.

If the first reports are an indication, he has work to do as he tries to win football matches and respect the locker room.
