A local ABC TV reporter was watching a live Facebook video on Friday as she stopped her to help save a dog caught in the waters of Hurricane Florence.
Julie Wilson of the WTVD was in the middle of the Facebook Live video in New Bern, North Carolina, when she saw a woman struggling to save a dog, a Rottweiler, deep water. The dog was injured.

Wilson continued her flow of storm damage when she saw the woman having trouble driving the dog through the water. Wilson asked the woman if she could take the dog.
"Can we choose that one?" Wilson asked the woman. The reporter gave the woman the camera and carried the dog.
"You're fine, baby," Wilson said to the dog.
"Nobody leaves the dog in this mess," Wilson said. "That's what we do here."

The woman thanked the reporter for his help.
Wilson later explained what happened and why she jumped into action. She explained that the dog was the therapy dog of the woman's son.
"This dog was not going to move, it was just there. And frankly, [the woman] was just going to get hurt because she was not going to be able to lift that dog. This dog was not going to leave, this dog was not going to walk. The only thing we could do was lift her up and get her out so that more people would not be hurt in this situation, "said Wilson.
Hurricane Florence was downgraded to a tropical storm and weakened Saturday since it touched down on Friday. The storm was blamed for at least five deaths.
