NEW YORK (WABC) –
Police are investigating a pregnant woman who was killed and a teenager seriously injured in an accident on the Major Deegan Expressway Highway in the Bronx on Saturday morning.
Officials said Jennifer Parisella, 30, of Middletown was driving a van. His 28-year-old brother, as well as a 14-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy were all passengers in the car.
Everything was going well, but the van crashed into the back of a semitrailer on the south side, near Exit 1.
The Parisella family says that she was five months pregnant and that she was eager to soon become a mother.
Parisella was declared dead. The passengers were all taken to hospitals in the area with various injuries. We expect that they are fine.
The driver of the 42-year-old trailer remained on the scene. He was taken to hospital in a stable state.
Parisella, who worked on a farm, went to town to distribute products.
At present, there is no arrest and an investigation is underway.
