Reshad Jones's shot from the Jets-Dolphins match

The Miami Dolphins had an excellent defensive performance in Sunday's 13-6 win over the New York Jets, scoring four sacks and four interceptions.

Surprisingly, the Dolphins managed to do this without putting security at liberty, Reshad Jones, who left the game in the first quarter after playing 10 hits and did not return to the field.

"I have to watch this and find out what's involved," said Adam Gase, Dolphins coach after the match, via the team's official website. "It looks like it's gone out of itself, so I just have to find out what happened there."

Jones suffered a shoulder injury, but Gase told reporters that it was not certain that an injury had played a role in Jones's departure from the playing field.

"I did not ask a lot of questions because we had our own problems on the other side of the balloon," Gase said. "It will be one of those things where I will probably learn a little more tonight and try to figure out what's going on."

Jones did not return to the locker room and remained sidelined without his helmet, according to ESPN.

Veteran Cameron Wake spent time with Jones whenever the defense was not on the ground, but Wake did not specify the discussions, including whether the safety was healthy, between both.

"It's between him and me," Wake told reporters.

Jones did not talk to the media after the match, but the Dolphins survived without their fifth leading tackle against the Jets to improve to 5-4 this season.

And what happened Sunday with Jones' departure from the game will remain a mystery for now, until Jones or Gase provide an update next week.

As for whether Jones will be available for the 10th week match against the Green Bay Packers, Wake did not seem to care.

"Unless you know something I do not know, I do not see why not," Wake told reporters.
