Health officials warn residents of the San Fernando Valley that more mosquitoes have been tested positive for West Nile virus.

Mosquito samples come from Sherman Oaks and Porter Ranch.

The first positive mosquitoes for the year were found in Panorama City last week.

It is also important to wear an anti-mosquito on the outside to avoid to be bitten and infected with the virus.

The virus is transmitted to people and animals by the bite of an infected mosquito.

One in five people infected with the virus will develop symptoms such as fever, headache, body aches, nausea or rash. Symptoms can last several days to several months
