STRABANE NORTH, PA. – A few days after the landslide forced workers to demolish two homes in a community in Washington County, locals are preparing to meet with township officials for answers.

Channel 11 has been tracking issues in the North Strabane area of ​​Majestic Hills for months.

The meeting was held at the North Strabane Township building and was filled with concerned residents.

Residents then told Channel 11 that plans are in place to ensure the safety of their families after the start of the crack of the neighborhood's only road.

"I think we all enjoyed this meeting," said Nick Sherman, a resident.

City officials have addressed the issue of a massive landslide that began this summer and recently caused the demolition of two houses.

"We are going to do something boring tomorrow and install a wall on the side of the hill to stabilize Oakwood, so we have two points of access to development," said Andrew Walz, director of the Township of North Strabane. "Our contractor will be there to remove the embankment inside the hill and start leveling it."

The two houses that were demolished Friday after the landslide will be removed Monday.

"We had very early expectations of our developer, and we do not think they were satisfied," said Brian Garner, board member of the Majestic Hills Homeowners Association. .

A meeting is scheduled with developer Ryan Homes for Tuesday.
