Team Europe leads by the infamous 10-6 score after two days of team play at the 2018 Ryder Cup. The Europeans – led again by the dynamic pair of Francesco Molinari and Tommy Fleetwood – won the morning session 3- 1 and shared the matches in the afternoon 2-2, never allowing the United States to resume their momentum Friday.

If the second session of Friday was bad for the United States, the opening session Saturday morning was worse. The Americans lost the first three matches of four balls (eight in a row going back to Friday morning) and lost 8-3 before a Jordan Spieth-Justin Thomas win ended. 4 at the afternoon session. Molinari and Fleetwood beat Tiger Woods and Patrick Reed, and no one except Spieth and Thomas could find him. Without at least a break in the afternoon, this Ryder Cup would have been curtained almost as quickly as it began.

Fortunately for Jim Furyk's team, the Americans have rallied to the afternoon foursome. After being 4-0 in the Friday foursome, the United States grabbed two points on Saturday, with one of them being the least favorite. Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson, who had never won a game together at the Ryder Cup, took Sergio Garcia and Alex Noren to the pyre, and Spieth and Thomas continued their course in the morning session.

It was not enough to reach the figure of 9-7 that they probably needed, but the United States continues to cling. Europe was clearly sniffing on Saturday afternoon; he has all the dynamics, all the crowd and a recent story that foreshadows a rout Sunday. However, in two of the last three Ryder Cups where one team led 10-6 to Sunday, the other team won the Ryder Cup. The United States is probably better suited for singles, and there is a young couple at Spieth and Thomas who can do damage early and often. Sunday's singles should be fascinating as Europe hopes to win seven Ryder Cups in nine tries and the United States tries to steal one in Paris.
