Voters were asked to decide whether they wanted to ride a bike the same status as hiking and driving. Currently, the Swiss constitution mentions roads and hiking trails, but not bike paths, which many cyclists would like to see changed.

The first agricultural initiative, the Fair Food Initiative, aimed to make food healthier and produce more environmentally friendly. The second, entitled Popular Initiative for Food Sovereignty, sponsored by the Uniterre Farmers' Union, aimed to ensure that Switzerland maintained its current agricultural model.

The votes of Fair Food and Food Sovereignty were rejected by 61.3% and 68.4% of the voters. The linguistic divide often noted was evident in both votes. The French-speaking cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Neuchâtel and Jura are all in favor, while all the other cantons reject them.

Cycling was accepted by 73.6% of Swiss voters, with all cantons in favor of improving the status of bicycles.
