AThe saying goes: If you want a friend in Washington, take a dog.
Former Vice President Joe Biden did it only Saturday, while his wife Jill and himself adopted Major from the Delaware Humane Association.
According to an article of the organization, the Bidens had raised the dog, accompanied by pictures of the former vice president posing with the big black German shepherd and fire.
"The Bidens have come to know Major while welcoming him and are now ready to formalize the adoption," said the organization.
Major was part of a litter of German Shepherd puppies delivered to the rescue group. The organization said Biden got wind of their message to ask for help and made contact.
Major is not the first German Shepherd of Biden. Biden said he grew up with dogs of this breed and had a German Shepherd puppy following the 2008 elections, as promised by his wife. The family was criticized for purchasing this puppy, named by Champ's grandchildren by Biden, from a breeder rather than a dog from a rescue organization.
