Richard Sherman is expecting a NFL lockout in 2021, at the end of the collective agreement

The current NFL CBA, signed before the 2011 season, is expected to expire after the 2020 season, and Richard Sherman, the 49ers' NFLPA representative, said he plans a new lockout after the transaction.

The 49ers' players met on Wednesday to discuss a possible lockout and various other issues concerning workers, such as training and worker benefits. Sherman told reporters Thursday, "There was no concern" as to what the future would do in terms of another lockout.

"It's going to happen, so it's not like guys guessed that," Sherman said.

Sherman noted that the previous lockout is the reason why it will be another one in 2021. The current ABC posed many problems that will probably have to be solved when renegotiating power. Commissioner Roger Goodell has disciplinary problems, a lack of guaranteed contracts and a distribution of income.

"We do not intend to change anything about the agreement we currently have, so I do not think it will be negotiated before the end of the collective agreement. from there, "said Sherman.

The previous work stoppage lasted about five months in 2011, from March to July. Sherman added that he planned to have more conversations about the long-term status of a new employment contract when the NFLPA will hold its annual meeting in 2019.
