Tennessee Titans catcher Rishard Matthews will be released Thursday after asking to advance after a slow start to the 2018 season.

Jim Wyatt of TitansOnline.com shared the word of the impending exit of Matthews Thursday after Austin Stanley from A to Z Sports (h / t ESPN & # 39; s Adam Schefter) first reported the departure of the receiver on Wednesday.

Stanley received a text from Matthews, who said he was more pleased with the team:
