Canadian researchers say that the darker the coffee, the better it can be for your brain.

Researchers at the Krembil Brain Institute in Toronto have tested the instant light roast, dark roast and dark Starbucks Via decaffeinated roast.

They were looking for a particular compound known to make bitter coffee. The compound also allegedly prevents two protein fragments common in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.

IN FASHION NOW:

The researchers found that black roasted coffee produced the highest amounts of the compound. They say that this would apparently make it the best choice for brain health.

An expert believes that you should undertake this study with a skeptical side.

A Krembil Brain Institute researcher admits that the study does not suggest that coffee is a cure.
