A parcel resembling apparent pipe pipes sent to prominent Democrats in recent days was addressed to actor Robert De Niro and was found Thursday morning in a TriBeCa building where his restaurant is located, said the NYPD.

The parcel was found shortly after 4 am in the Greenwich and Franklin streets, police said. The building houses the Tribeca Grill De Niro restaurant and the Tribeca Film Center, created by De Niro and producer Jane Rosenthal.

He was removed by the NYPD and sent to a Bronx facility where he would be investigated, said Commissioner James O'Neill in a tweet shortly after 7 hours

De Niro, like the other recipients of the packages, is a critic of President Donald Trump. He had launched an obscenity at Trump at the Tony Awards in June.

Two other parcels, addressed to former vice president Joe Biden, were found Thursday in Delaware, the FBI announced.

Earlier this week, seven suspicions of pipe-pipes were sent to former President Barack Obama, to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to the former director of CIA John Brennan, former Attorney General Eric Holder of California representative Maxine Waters and Liberal donor George Soros.

The package sent to Brennan, a CNN contributor, was delivered Wednesday to the network mailroom at the Time Warner Center on Columbus Circle, resulting in an evacuation of the building.

The FBI opened an investigation into these devices, which were packaged in kraft paper envelopes with an air bubble envelope on the inside and computer – printed address labels on the inside. ;outside. Each of them included a return address for "Debbie Wasserman Shultz (sic)", current representative of the United States and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

"This investigation is a top priority for the FBI," said Christopher Wray, director of the FBI, in a statement. "We have mobilized all the resources of the FBI and, together with our partners in our joint working groups on terrorism, we will continue to work to identify and arrest anyone responsible for sending these packages."

Trump on Twitter on Thursday morning accused the media of "anger" in the country.

"A very big part of the anger we see today in our society is caused by the deliberately false and inaccurate reporting of the mainstream media that I call false news," he wrote. "It's become so heinous and hateful that it's beyond description. Mainstream Media has to put order in its business, FAST! "
