The 82-year-old star – a decades-long leader, an Oscar-winning director, and a figurehead in the history of film festivals – announced his retirement in early August, saying his next film, The old man and the pistol, would be his last But in a recent interview with VarietyRedford responded to these claims, admitting that he probably should not have said that.
