The Pittsburgh Steelers won their fourth straight game Sunday, avenging an earlier defeat against the Baltimore Ravens, 23-16.
Pittsburgh moved the ball to the top-ranked NFL defense, bringing nearly 400 yards of offense with a good balance. Running back James Conner broke the 100-yard mark for the fifth time this season and Ben Roethlisberger completed the seven-receiver passes.
With the exception of a frightening moment in the fourth quarter, it was a win without a hitch for the Steelers.
Roethlisberger leaves the game – briefly
With 13 minutes left and the Steelers facing a 15-second home goal, Roethlisberger ran to his right with Ravens Za'Darius Smith linebacker in pursuit. Smith caught up with Roethlisberger, who did not slip, and landed with his weight on the Steelers quarterback.
It was not an illegal hit, but it was bad for Roethlisberger. Smith's 272 pounds were on him at the tackle as his right throwing shoulder sank into the grass. CBS commentators continued to talk about Roethlisberger's shoulder, but the play had the same nuances as the one that led to Aaron Rodgers' clavicle fracture last year.
Roethlisberger was for a while, ending up in his back as the Steelers trainers stared at him. Adding an insult to what looked like an injury, the race was removed from the board due to a blockage of the left-back duel Alejandro Villanueva.

The Steelers have a short lead time
The Steelers have a small turnaround after Sunday's win, welcoming the Carolina Panthers Thursday night.
Now 5-3-1, Pittsburgh has already played five of his six division games and is 3-1-1 in those games. The Bengals are 5-3 (1-1 in AFC North) and are on guard this week.
