Rondo, Paul and Ingram involved in the fight at the Lakers home opener

After months of waiting, LeBron James finally made his debut with the Lakers in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Of course, the energy at Staples Center was electric – Lakers fans could not help themselves.

While James was the main focus of the battle against the Houston Rockets, a fight late in the fourth quarter distracted attention from his home debut and resulted in three ejections.

Rajon Rondo, Chris Paul and Brandon Ingram are fighting late

While there was four minutes to go, Rockets goaltender James Harden made a mistake by shooting on goal. He then doubled the Lakers striker, Brandon Ingram, to give the Rockets' 109-108 advantage. Ingram, however, did not like the call. The 21-year-old quickly pushed Harden to the back, shooting a technical foul.

While a scrum was quickly gathering in the lane and Ingram continued to chirp, Lance Stephenson rushed inside, caught her and pulled her away – probably for the purpose to defuse it.

Suddenly, players being scattered on the court, Lakers leader Rajon Rondo and Rockets leader Chris Paul were face to face in the driveway. Paul could be seen pointing his finger at Rondo's face, pushing him slightly. Rondo responded by throwing a punch, and Paul then kicked back.

Ingram, seeing what had happened, hit the pile on the other side of the court and threw her own punch. From there, a fight ensued.

Ingram, Paul and Rondo were all kicked out of the game after the officials examined the incident. The three men will probably face suspensions and fines from the league as of Sunday – since the Rockets will play again Sunday night.

Paul said after the incident started because Rondo had spit in his face. Even though it has not been seen on the video yet, we can see Paul wipe his face just before the two men start fighting.

Paul was also incredibly angry after the match, as a member of Rondo's family apparently made "inappropriate" comments to his wife, Jada, in the stands after the fight, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

Rocket striker Carmelo Anthony also confirmed after the match that there was a "spit incident," which he described as "unacceptable."

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Lakers officials support "Rondo's assertion that he did not spit" on Paul, while the Rockets insist that he do.

The Rockets kept their slight lead after the fight to win the 124-115 win, spoiling James' opener in Los Angeles and winning their first win of the year.
