Rookie QB Jackson from Ravens is about to start with Flacco

Ravens rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson is about to make his first career start in the NFL. Joe Flacco will be out when Baltimore hosts the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Flacco, an 11-year-old veteran, is inactive because of a right hip injury. Coach John Harbaugh then turned to Jackson instead of Robert Griffin III to start, while the Ravens were trying to break their three-game losing streak.

The Bengals have excluded A.J. Green after changing status on the weekend in doubt. The star catcher will be marginalized with an injury to the toe.

In Atlanta, three offensive linemen from the Dallas Cowboys are active in the Falcons game: Connor Williams (knee), Zack Martin (knee) and Tyron Smith (back cramps).

As expected for the Falcons, kicker Matt Bryant is back after missing the last three games with a right hamstring injury. But linebacker Deion Jones is inactive after returning to active lineup this week. Jones spent two months on the injured reserve with a broken right foot and could return for Thursday night's game against the Saints.

In Washington, the Redskins will face the Houston Texans without distant receiver Jamison Crowder for a sixth consecutive game with an ankle injury. Left tackle Trent Williams, who was trying to get out after an operation for a dislocation of the right thumb, will not play.

In Detroit, Lions defensive linemen Ezekiel Ansah and Damon Harrison are active. Both were deemed doubtful. They injured one shoulder during the game against the Carolina Panthers.

Receiver Bruce Ellington makes his debut with the Lions. He replaces injured receiver Marvin Jones, who had already been dismissed as a result of a knee injury. Detroit had also already eliminated striker Michael Roberts (shoulder) and defensive tackle A & Shawn Robinson (ankle).

Carolina had previously ruled out receiver Torrey Smith (knee) and rookie D.J. Moore should start in his place.

In Indianapolis, Mike Mitchell will start safety against the Titans of Tennessee in place of Malik Hooker (hip / disease), which was dismissed Saturday.

In Jacksonville, cornerback A.J. Bouye starts against the Pittsburgh Steelers after missing the last two games due to a calf injury.
