Roosevelt man arrested and charged with rape in Freeport, police say

A Roosevelt man was arrested last month for raping a woman in Freeport, police said.

Ever L. Martinez Reyes, 24, is charged with two counts of first-degree rape, two years of first-degree sexual assault and second-degree assault, Nassau County police said in a statement. press. He is scheduled to appear in front of the first Hempstead District Court on Saturday.

Police had previously said the 36-year-old woman was walking on Parsons Avenue in Freeport at 1:43 am on September 28, after being stunned by a stranger.

When she woke up, the man was sexually assaulting her, the police said. The suspect escaped and the victim was taken to the hospital.

The detectives released Thursday a video and still images of the suspect, which they described as measuring 5 feet 7 inches, with a light to medium build. He was wearing a two-tone baseball cap, black pants and a graphic t-shirt at the time of the alleged assault.
