An alleged thief at the center of a British police call sparked a frenzy because of his resemblance to Friends star David Schwimmer.
The Blackpool police posted on Facebook to ask witnesses to identify a suspect in the photo, leaving a restaurant in the city carrying what appeared to be a crate of cans.
The alleged robbery allegedly took place on September 20, the station said.
Facebook users quickly found themselves in the comments section, highlighting the suspect's resemblance to Schwimmer's character, Ross Geller, in the beloved sitcom of the United States.
The message was shared nearly 60,000 times and "loved" 10,000 times.
The Lancashire police responded, "Thank you all for your prompt responses.
"We thoroughly investigated this case and confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on that date.
"We are so sorry that it's like this."
A Facebook user, referring to Friends' theme song, said, "I do not think it's that guy's day, his week, his month or even his year …"
