Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981 at St. Paul's Cathedral in front of millions of viewers. The wedding seemed like a fairy tale come true for their adoring fans, but the wedding was unfortunately another story. After having two sons together – Prince William and Prince Harry – the couple announced their separation in 1992 and eventually divorced in 1996.
Their marriage woes have become a national scandal with allegations of infidelity brought to both parties and speculation about the secret relations between the two partners.
And although many believe that the queen has had several problems with Princess Diana and her behavior, it is a Prince Charles that his majesty and his husband, Prince Philip, have blamed the failed marriage, according to a documentary.
Robert Lacey, biographer, said in "Princes Of The Palace": "It would be a grave mistake to say [the Queen] accused Diana for what went wrong.
He added, "If I am not mistaken, she and her husband, Prince Philip, blamed Prince Charles more than ever, and Prince Charles, of course, as we have since discovered, was already emotionally engaged to another woman.
The documentary claims not only that the queen did not blame her daughter-in-law, but the Princess of Wales has regularly turned to her majesty for emotional support.
The royal correspondent, Ingrid Seward, revealed: "No one sees the queen without an appointment, but Diana was waiting for the last visitor of the queen – if you will – to leave.
"Then she would rush before the next and cry. She said, "Everybody hates me, I hate my sister, I hate my mother, I hate my husband," and the queen – not used to this kind of moral confrontation – just did not know how to handle Diana. "
After the planned divorce, Diana then formed a relationship with Dodi Fayed, the son of an Egyptian billionaire.
However, both men were tragically killed in a car accident in 1997 in Paris.
Charles, meanwhile, married Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005.
Their love story began in the early 1970s and never went far back.
Charles resumed his affair with Camilla in 1986, laying the foundation for the bankruptcy of his marriage.
Diana said about her own relationship with Charles that there were "three people in this marriage" in reference to Camilla.
