The NBA's universe will revolve around LeBron James' big decision this summer, and while the free agency officially begins only on July 1, the superstar would already be at work to recruit potential teammates.
Mark Heisler of the Southern California News Group reports that James is already discussing with potential teammates in the league. Heisler notes that the general manager of the Eastern Conference team said, "LeBron does what we do: call the players from the other teams he wants to play with.
No surprise there, that James is working behind the scenes to set up his own dream team. The veteran has the power and desire to build the team that he wants, as he did when Chris Bosh and he joined Dwyane Wade with the Miami Heat.
Three players in particular James might be interested in teaming up, according to Heisler, are Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Chris Paul. The Spurs, however, would probably be reluctant to swap the discontented Leonard for a rival of the Western Conference, no matter how much he seems to want to come out of San Antonio.
The team most often associated with James, the Lakers, has the most salary cap space and / or flexibility to bring James and one or two of these players.
Obviously, James could find himself somewhere else. A return to Cleveland seems highly unlikely at this stage, despite rumors that the Cavs are attempting to reach an agreement with Hornets playmaker Kemba Walker to prevent James from leaving.
