Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has a quick and easy way to change the balance of power with the Red Sox in the AHL: signing right-handed Nathan Eovaldi.
The former Yankee was one of the heroes of the Boston World Series, highlighted by his relief performance in the third game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, which lasted 18 innings.
According to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, the Red Sox are aware of the potential interest of the Yankees:
The Yankees will probably hit the tires with a lot of pitchers. Patrick Corbin will probably be at the top of the list. Maybe even Nathan Eovaldi, a pitcher Cashman once had and let go after a few months after Eovaldi needed the Tommy John operation.

Eovaldi agents, Levinson, are already trying to see what is the landscape for their client during the off season. The right-hander is obviously very much in demand as a free agent. In a perfect world, Eovaldi would probably come back in the Red Sox as the third or fourth starter of a talented staff. But as Dombrowski (Dave) has pointed out a few times, it is unrealistic to think that one can bring back a championship team in its entirety. Nevertheless, if you had the opportunity to bring back one of Sox's free agents, Eovaldi would probably be the unanimous choice because he was so important to the cause.

The Yankees dropped Eovaldi after his second surgery at Tommy John in 2016.
He was fully recovered in July 2018 when the Red Sox acquired Eovaldi from the Tampa Bay Rays.
He made six appearances in the playoffs in 2018, including four on the market. Eovaldi went 2-1 with a .61 ERA in the playoffs, and regularly exceeded 100 mph on the radar gun.
