The Miami Dolphins have deemed starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill inactive for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears and will instead turn to Brock Osweiler.
Tannehill was listed as a limited participant in Friday's practice with a right shoulder injury.
Osweiler will make his first start to the Dolphins after signing a one – year contract with the team this season off. He replaces an attack in Miami looking for a spark after Tannehill had only 285 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions in consecutive losses over the past two weeks.
The Bears defense ranks second in the NFL with 18 sacks. Osweiler will also face a familiar enemy at Khalil Mack, who in 2015 fired the Denver Broncos quarterback five times in a game as a member of the Oakland Raiders.
