Ryan Tannehill (injured) does not launch

DAVIE –

The Dolphins had quarterback Ryan Tannehill on the training ground today, but he continues to rest his right shoulder before Sunday's home game against Detroit.

Tannehill never raised his right arm over his chest while he was taking pictures with the rest of the quarterbacks. He put the ball back into play, but when the team worked on passing routes, he held the ball. The other quarters, Brock Osweiler and David Fales, started as usual.

Osweiler started Sunday in Tannehill's spot against the Bears and earned Miami a 31-28 overtime victory. He completed 28 of his 44 passes for 380 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions for a score of 94.9.

Osweiler will be available for the Dolphins for a press conference today, usually at the beginning of their quarterback. Tannehill will not be available for the media.

Here are other notes from a practice worthy of the news:

– Defensive end Cameron Wake practiced during the open segments of the media for the first time since his knee injury. He missed the last two games.

– Linebacker Mike Hull and center Jake Brendel, both of the injured reserve, have been practicing today. It was their first eligible day to practice, and they are allowed to replay in the 9th week against the Jets.

– By practicing Hull and Brendel, dolphins are locked up in these two camps as short-term IR returnees for the season. Anyone who is already in IR or who continues in the future will definitely be missing for the year, which Hull or Brendel actually plays.

– Miami must register Hull and Brendel on the active players list before November 8, otherwise they are not eligible for the rest of the season.

– The starting cornerback Bobby McCain (knee) is exercised today. He missed the Cincinnati and Chicago games.

– Defensive wing Charles Harris, injured in a calf during the training session last Friday, was not on the field.

– Defensive end Jonathan Woodard is in the concussion protocol after suffering an injury to the Bears.

– The wide receiver Danny Amendola has been absent but does not seem to have been injured. He does not usually practice on Wednesdays.
