NEW YORK – CC Sabathia stopped the Red Sox, Greg Bird hit two homers and Aaron Judge hooked up a teammate while the New York Yankees bopped Boston 8 -1 on Friday night to resume the record-breaking majors.

Yankees: RHP Masahiro Tanaka (hamstrings) launched 48 shots in a simulated game at the Spring Complex in Tampa, Florida. He is expected to play in a minor league rehabilitation game in the middle of next week and then join the Yankees.
