Sailors accused of racism by the former director of high performance; Team denies "scandalous" allegations

An employee of the recently dismissed Mariners team has raised allegations of racial discrimination against the team's leaders, including General Manager Jerry Dipoto and Director Scott Servais. She even said that they had tried to silence her.

Lorena Martin was the Director of High Performance Mariners, the first woman MLB to hold such a position. She was fired in October, then spoke against the club on Monday via social media. Martin said Dipoto, Servais and player development director Andy McKay called Latino players "idle, stupid and stupid". Martin also wrote that the team "sent back innocent coaches for trying to do what was right and because of their color / race".

Also responding to a Mariners writer, she says:

Shortly after Martin made his comments public, the Mariners issued a statement denying the allegations. The team called the comments "scandalous and false".

It seems that the MLB could soon announce that it is conducting an investigation. We will see if more details are provided on the situation.
