Salad ready to eat recalled for possible salmonella, listeria

WASHINGTON –

Ready-to-eat salads with corn-containing meat products have been recalled due to possible Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes contamination, according to the US Department of Agriculture Food Inspection and Safety Service.

More than 700 pounds of salad products were recalled by an establishment in Green Cove Springs, Florida, known as GHSE LLC.

The possible contamination was discovered on October 15 after the establishment received a notification that the corn supplier had recalled the corn used due to concerns with salmonella and listeria monocytogenes.

The recalled salad was shipped to stores in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

"There have been no confirmed reports of adverse effects due to the consumption of these products," said the USDA.

Product details recalled below:

  • Salads ready to eat with steak were produced from October 11 to October 8, 2018.
  • 15.25 oz transparent plastic blister packs containing "Marketside ™ FIESTA SALAD WITH STEAK" and use from the date of 17/10/2018 to 10/20/2018.
  • The products subject to the recall bear the establishment number 'EST. 45781 "inside the USDA inspection mark.
