Sam Darnold of the Jets will miss Week 10 against Bills and miss Wednesday's practice session

Sam Darnold spent Wednesday's Jets training staring from outside with a walking boot on his right foot.

Now, it seems that he may miss some play time too.

Darnold will miss Sunday's game against the Bills and could also miss Week 12 of the Jets against the Patriots after they leave, according to the New York Daily News.

Apparently, Darnold's foot has a "major sprain", which will result in a break, reported the Daily News.

The rookie quarterback said he was "slightly upset" after Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, but he and head coach Todd Bowles downplayed the injury during their conference call on Monday.

"He did not say that," Bowles said. "I did not know it was sounded at that time, but the injury report will be released Wednesday, I'll have a better update than when I go there."

Shortly after Bowles' comments, Darnold also pooped all potential injury rumors.

"Yes, I feel good," said Darnold. "Some bumps and bruises but everything is fine."

Darnold was fired four times and hit seven times by the Dolphins.

Wednesday was the first time this season that Darnold missed a practice. Until this week, he had only been listed on the Jets' injury report once, at week 7.

That relay on the casualty list was brief – Darnld was listed as a training participant with a right elbow injury in his head before Week 7. This injury was suffered when he tackled an interception against the Colts the previous week. The injury was ultimately minor and did not affect Darnold's status for the match.
