A person on a scooter that was hit by an SUV at Dupont Circle on Friday is dead, police said.
The accident occurred around 10 am and caused hours of traffic delay. Police released little details about the incident and were still investigating Friday afternoon.
The person who was hit was stuck under the vehicle and was pulled out by the fire department. The person was taken to a local hospital where the victim died, the police said.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
