"Some people in your life are going to be irreplaceable," Combs said. "Kim, we'll miss you so much. But I will not miss you too much because I will not let your voice stop talking. I know you like to talk to me a lot once you've had those rants, and I just want you to know that I'm going to listen. "
Beginning the speech, Combs said, "Anyone who knows Kim is a person with whom you vibrate, you know? I can not put our relationship in a certain box. She always told me, seriously, she felt like God had sent her … her to help me. I would be like, 'Girl, what are you talking about?' "
"I did not really understand how to love and, you know, we went through some circumstances, my mother and my family, where we did not have a big family and all that," continued Combs. "She really started breaking down the outside of any shell I put."
Combs acknowledged that Porter had helped him out of a depression. "There is something important to say," he began. "From the beginning of the year, I was going through a very dark period and I was really depressed. And I do not know why. I was getting older and … I went through a dark, dark period.
"And she would come and make sure – even if we were not together like that," he added. "She was that kind of person. It's hard to love someone when you're not with them. … She was just like, "Come on, Puff, you have to get up. You have to get up. You have to get up from bed. You have to move. You have to get up.
He then led the mourners in a recitation of the word "up". "So every time you feel depressed, you have to remember it," said Combs. "Over time, our relationship has undergone many changes, whether it's being a boyfriend, being in love, becoming a better friend or just being a buddy, as someone you can count on. Someone who has your back, you have the back. "
After committing to their children, Combs concluded, "And we all love you, we all love you, we value the family. To all the words I forget, to everything I forget to say, we love you, Kim. Thank you."
