MARSHFIELD – Authorities continued on Tuesday to search for a Rockland man who allegedly murdered his wife in the coastal town on Monday night and managed to avoid capture despite a massive manhunt by heavily armed police.
Allen Warner, whose last known address was Union Street in Rockland, would have for the first time chased the unidentified woman in his car and shot dead at around 18 hours. on the main street, which is also Route 3A, officials said.
The woman telephoned 911 to report that she was being followed and when the police found her, she was already suffering from what the authorities described as "facial injuries". She was transported to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.
The woman's name was not released Tuesday morning, but Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz described Warner as "soon his ex-husband" and "no-one of interest" in the ongoing investigation into homicides.
Warner is "considered armed and dangerous," said Cruz at 22:00. press conference. He asked the public for help in finding Warner, who police said was driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla gray with a Massachusetts license plate stating 4FS-Z80.
"If anyone contacts him, please call 911 immediately," Cruz said. "Do not approach him."
Reached by phone Monday night, a Warner parent declined to comment.
The inhabitants must remain cautious until Warner is caught, said the prosecutor.
State police and a SWAT team participated in Warner's research. At around 8:00 pm, at least three helicopters were circling the area, and the police escorted students to a sports event at Marshfield High School, a few miles from the scene of the shooting.
At around 10pm on Monday, the police stopped Warner's search and asked for help from the public to locate him.
