The Iowa Department of Public Health announced that a second case of measles had been confirmed in that state, following tests conducted at the state's health laboratory. Officials from the Department of Health said this case was an unvaccinated resident from northeastern Iowa, who is a family contact of the recently confirmed measles case of an unvaccinated resident of Northeastern Ontario. is from Iowa having recently made a trip to Israel the original investigation and was subject to a voluntary public health home placement order to prevent further exposures. As this second case of measles was isolated at home during the measles incubation period, there is currently no threat to the general public.
