Second medical dispensary of Pittsburgh marijuana opens in the band

Pittsburgh receives its second medical marijuana clinic after Cresco Yeltrah +, or CY +, opened its Strip District district on Tuesday.

Co-founder Trent Hartley said he's not worried about keeping his tablets well stocked. Product shortages were at stake in Pennsylvania when the first dispensaries opened this winter.

"There are times when we are out of stock, there is no doubt," Hartley said.

That's because only half of the 12 state-licensed producer-processors currently sell medical marijuana products at clinics, Hartley said. However, he expects this to change.

"I would say the next six should probably have products on the market in the next six to eight weeks," he said.

According to the state's Department of Health, on June 21, more than 46,000 patients were enrolled in the medical marijuana program. More than 24,000 of those registered have purchased identity cards allowing them to pick up their products at clinics.

Maurice Notkin was one of several online card holders for shopping. He runs ShaDyside's RadRitual and CBD Bar with his wife and says that the other dispensary in town, Solevo at Squirrel Hill, is often too busy.

"They have not been able to meet the demand, and I think this is going to be a big change and will really help people get the drugs they need," Notkin said. "And that's why I'm here – they have things today that no one else has in stock."

CY + will store its own products; The company owns a marijuana growing and processing facility in Jefferson County as well as another dispensary in Butler. A third clinic site is expected to be announced soon.

The Washington Healing Center, Penn. should open later this week, making it the fourth operational dispensary in the region.
