Drake and Bad Bunny party and play dominoes in the video of "Mia", a highly anticipated collaboration released Thursday. This is the sound of two stars in cruise control: the instrumental consists of an overhead synth and a squeaky voice sample; a bass drum ensures the djs to understand this in the club.
Bad Bunny alternates between staccato rampage and low talk, encouraging a woman to ignore her other admirers. Drake also wrote a Spanish verse before giving way to his Puerto Rican co-star.
This is not the first time that Drake has sung in Spanish: he has also tried the bilingual song "Odio", the 2014 success of Romeo Santos. This number culminated at number 45 of Hot 100; it's sure to debut a lot, much higher.
"Mia" is in the works for quite some time. Bad Bunny and Drake alluded to the song on Instagram earlier this year; in September, they were seen filming the video together in Miami. In the clip, the stars dance and play dominoes at a packed house party. Bad Bunny has an impressive striped overalls.
Bad Bunny has maintained a busy schedule this year, touring the United States while taking the time to record footage for CardiB ("I Like It" hit number one on Hot 100), Nio Garcia and others.
