In just over a month, one of the most terrifying and iconic assassins of the horror genre returns to Blumhouse. Halloween. But Michael Myers is not the only maniac wielding a knife to come back with a bloody revenge. Chucky and the A child's game franchise are also on the return track, with a new restart in the works. As with all reboots, this will give the franchise a new layer of paint, and part of this update will be to give a new look to the doll with which you should never have played: Chucky. Take a look below to see the new Chucky look for the A child's game to restart.
We only see part of his face here, but suffice it to say that it's definitely a new look for Chucky. Overall, he is still recognizable as Chucky, but his aesthetic has been updated. The rebooted appearance of Chucky seems to be updated in a way that makes it more modern and perhaps more representative of current toys and dolls. Her freckles and her red hair are still there, but her eyes are a deeper blue and her eyebrows are more protruding and tangible – whereas in some of the other appearances of the character, they were just painted. It also seems that Chucky is taking better care of his hair because he is much more handsome than the frizzy and cheap hair that he had used to have.
Changing the appearance of an iconic character is always a tenuous proposition, and many things can go wrong and lead to negative reactions from fans. At least for me, this picture of Chucky's Orion Photos manages to balance skillfully staying true to the Chucky we know and fear and updates it for the modern era. He retains all the hallmarks of his brand while posing rather as a Good Boy Doll when he was a new toy on the market in 2018 – not in 1988 when the first A child's game has been freed. It also makes sense, since we've heard that the reboot will see Chucky as a technologically advanced doll. So maybe he's got a camera built into the nanny or some kind of voice technology or something like that.
The most important thing is that this Chucky always looks really sinister, with malice and evil under the surface. As for who will be facing this evil in the restart, we can have an idea. Earlier this week was reported that Aubrey Plaza, who is somehow a horror villain herself on FX Legion, and AtlantaBrian Tyree Henry are both in talks to play in the A child's game to restart. The restart is supposed to follow a group of kids who meet the Chucky doll, and Aubrey Plaza would play one of their mothers.
the A child's game the restart should start production soon under the direction of PolaroidLars Klevberg and based on a screenplay by Tyler Burton Smith.
