Selena Gomez tries to keep things simple. Cameron Mathison spoke with the actress and singer at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film, Transylvania Hotel 3: Summer Vacation at the Regency Village Theater in Westwood on Saturday, where she has opened why it is so "important" for her to de-stress her life after a hectic past year.
"In general, I think it's important to stay positive," Gomez explained. "I am at this age where I think it is what matters, it is to make sure that I am in good health and that people are happy that I love it.
In an interview with Good Morning America on Friday, the former Disney star revealed that she "receded a little" in the spotlight following her kidney transplant l & # 39; 39, last year. Since the surgery, she has been the subject of headlines for everything from her romances with The Weeknd and Justin Bieber to her relationship with her family.
Now, however, the singer of "Back to You" is focused on work, and she could not be more "grateful". When asked if she had any fun plans for her 26th birthday next month, she told ET, "I could work my birthday."
"It's [a good thing]," she revealed. "I'm very lucky, I'm grateful."
Gomez plays the vampire Mavis, the daughter of Adam Sandler's Count Dracula, in Hotel Transylvania 3 who sees the family taking things tropical while on a cruise. The film is all about keeping things light – while what keeps Gomez happy? "I love listening to 'This Is Me' from The Greatest Showman ," she confessed at the premiere – although this should not surprise fans who Have seen playing the song in the car. "I like that."
